EMDR is a therapy that effectively treats trauma and other psychological problems or mental disorders. Based on empirical evidence, EMDR has proven to be an effective and rapid method of healing trauma.
EMDR uses the brain's natural information processing system to process disturbing experiences. EMDR "unblocks" the brain from past negative experiences and allows the brain to naturally heal by using the mind and body simultaneously.
Sirsey uses EMDR with some clients as appropriate. Clients who are interested in using EMDR to resolve negative experiences are assessed to determine how much preparation they may need before trauma processing can begin.
EMDR can be used to help people of all ages: adults, teens, and children. If you are interested in learning more about EMDR, you can go to emdr.com or emdria.org. You can also contact Sirsey Martinez at (209) 814-5251.
Flash Technique (FT) is an evidenced-based therapeutic intervention that reduces disturbance associated with traumatic or other distressing memories. It was developed from the preparation phase of EMDR. FT has been demonstrated to be effective in reducing the disturbance of negative memories, sometimes in as little as ten to fifteen minutes.
Like EMDR, FT uses eye movements or alternating tapping to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. Unlike many conventional trauma therapy interventions, FT is a minimally intrusive option that does not require conscious engage with the traumatic memory. This allows the client to process traumatic memories without feeling distress.
FT can help people of all ages: adults, teens, and children. If you are interested in learning more about FT, you can visit https://flashtechnique.com/wp/. You can also contact Sirsey Martinez at (209) 814-5251.
